The rate of technology is changing fast and statistics shows that Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) areas are fast declining in the United States. What if there was a program that provide every individual of any stage in their lives to be able to access the knowledge led world and learn how to be engaged and participate in programs that prepare them to be a participant and a contributor to this rapid change?
In our research and prior experience we saw that one group of individuals who could afford educational certification are the ones who already have the resources, but another group who could not start or continue in a class, either had no funds to complete the payments for classes or do not have access to the requisite technology to learn, end up slipping back where they started; here at NETI our goal is to engage, equip and enable the latter group.
The rate of technology is changing fast and statistics shows that Science, Technology, Engineering a
High School Diploma Equivalency or GED
Goal: The goal of this program is provide assistance to participants who may not have a high school diploma but need to go further in their education for about 150 students.
Objective: The duration of the training depends on the trainee’s level and rate of progress and may last anywhere between 3 months to 4 months for 150 students.
Outcome: At the end of their period participants are awarded a certificate of completion.
Mentorship & Internship Program (MIP)
Goal: The goal of this program is to provide mentor-ship to individuals, who are experienced and willing to volunteer while learning a trade. We are seeking 50 participants to mentor & provide internship position for the program inception.
Objective: The objective is to help foster socially aware program participants to complete a minimum of 40 volunteer hours during their engagement, and secondly for the mentor-ship program, have individuals 18 and older sign up to be part of an arrangement with local employers, getting them trained and ready to play their role in community-building activities.
Outcome: Participants will gain specific skills and knowledge.
Professional Development Service (PD)
Goal: Offered to 25 professionals with requisite qualifications, diplomas or undergraduate degrees, as well as industry expertise, the program will prepare competent and capable workers for any type of industry employment.
Objective: The engagement for PD is dependent on the nature of the vocational area and the courses involved, and may last anywhere between 1 month and 6 months.
Outcome: At the end of their period participants are awarded a certificate of completion.
Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship (SBDE)
Goal: The goal of this program is to provide small business development and Entrepreneurship training, guidance and mentorship to 25 individuals who want to start their own businesses.
Objective: The duration of program is 12 – 14 weeks and depends on the level and kind of support these 25 selected trainees may need.
Outcome: Participants will gain specific skills and knowledge and be awarded a certificate of completion.
Reintegrated Evaluation Acceleration Program (REAP)
Goal: The goal of this program is to assist incarcerated youths and individuals who seek to start a new leaf or new career. This program may be done within the prison systems or through a release program for reformed inmates.
Objective: To allow individuals released from incarceration gain skills that will help them acquire relevant training and certification in an appropriate area fit to their skills.
Outcome: Participants will gain specific skills and knowledge and be awarded a certificate of completion.
NETI’s main goal is to provide access to streamlined education in the field of Engineering and Technology to those who have the will but not the means. This goal will be achieved by having individuals access training that will also give them a chance to be competitive, this include starting their own businesses as they progress through the phases of the educational growth. We are determined to help create trained and certified workforce that will improve our community.
We are working to provide resources for over 250 at-risk individuals within our community by getting them ready to participate in our educational. opportunities and get fully engaged into their communities by giving them the ability to contribute meaningfully.
We are projected to start immediate transformation for those without a GED and further along empower others participants in the technological area for school year 2020 to 2021. The Institute will like to attract qualified and skilled counselors and volunteers who are excited to see results based on their efforts. These counselors and volunteers will be in in the field of social work, teachers in the field of Information Technology, Information Security, Programming and other hands-on skill based area and expertise.
